JM: How did you get your first start in the wrestling Biz?
Sly: Well, a friend of mine was going to a place called LWA to be trained as a wrestler. I thought it would be fun to really get into it and here I am going on year four this september.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: is there a story behind your wrestling name
Sly: Well, everyone says my last name wrong. Everyone says Sly so that's my nickname and I'm a redneck. I looked up extreme in the dictionary and extremist was explained as being someone who goes far beyond the limits of extreme. So I put them all together and I got my name!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: What are some of your highlights in your career?
Sly: Well, right now I'm head of 3 special divisions in 3 different companies. I pretty proud of that. The other thing is my Texas Death Matches. I also got to work a show that Al Snow was part of and that made me feel really good about myself. He gave me some really good advice on the biz. Great guy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: Any Painful Injuries so far?
Sly: My shoulder is the most painful injury I have ever had. I almost broke my neck 4 times.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: You are undefeated in 4 texas death matches, is that true and if soo who did you beat to win in those type of matches?
Sly: The first one I ever had was with a guy called Eric "The Ardvack" at the time. That was my favorite one. Ah Jason Sya was next, then Jeremy Lightfoot, and last but not least Mephisto.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: Working for the WWE or TNA for that matter in your future?
Sly: I would love to work TNA, that's were Iwant to be at right now. WWE is the place I wouldn't mind being in but would like it. JM: Do you have a webpage for promoters or your fans looking to contact you or learn more about you?
Sly: I'm starting to build a website. So as soon as I get info on it. My email is slyshamus@aol.com if anyone wants to get ahold of me for anything.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: I only do this in a few of my interviews and you are one of the lucky ones- and I figured i'd take a shot and ask you....and be honest...what do you think of my website?
Sly: I think it's great. It can really help wrestlers get out there. Promoters can look at a guy and see what they have to offer. It can really make a difference.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: Who did you admire growing up?
Sly: The Undertaker the most. He really knows how to control the crowd and make them respect him. Unlike alot of these gimmicks out here now a days, Taker has been able to take his character and remold himself in many different ways and the character can't really die because it. He's one of those guys that can really go against father time. He makes me want to get better with very watch. I really respect him for it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: You are taking part of a show for a local TV Station sometime in april, what will your part be at the show?
Sly: Yea, as far as I know we're doing a show and their going to tape it so they can edit it for tv.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: Who have you had some of your best Bouts with?
Sly: Man, thats a good question. I would say Jason Sya, Cory Pillman, Roach, Rion Skillz, Chaos, Mephisto.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: What are some of your goals in this Biz?
Sly: To win a major title at any time. To have a company that wants me and can look to me to head the roster for them. And just to be knew as a nice guy trying to do his best in a biz.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: If there was a Texas Extreamist Sly's Best of DVD, What would be on it
Sly: If it's a family dvd. Probably some matches. some promos. and a interview or 2. Now, if it's the Adult dvd, probably some of my most violent matches, uncernsored promos, and what ever shit I can find to put in it. Oh and a plug for your site. LOL
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: Do you have any advice for fans including myself who dream of gettin involved with the sport?
Sly: It not easy to wrestle, it does take time to learn to wrestle and you'll always learn more as you go down the road with it. You got to be tough, respectful to the vets, and be able to talk to people. But after you get to your first show. You'll be hooked and will want to do it for the rest of your life.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JM: Any Closing Thoughts?
Sly: I would like to thank you for doing my very first interview. I would really like to do another in a few months or a year down the road. I respect what your doing for wrestlers, promoters, and the biz as a whole. The fans have been great to me at every place I've been at so far. I hope they never leave. Thanks!
